2016 Natural Dye Collection

Drawing Inspiration from my travels around South East Asia, Lán sè là is a collection where traditional textile processes merge with contemporary youth fashion.

This collection brings the historical Asian textile process of batik into a fun modern context. Using wax as a resist against the fabric to produce contemporary designs.

Referencing popular culture and emerging trends and colours, the fabric has been naturally dyed using red cabbage waste.  Altering tthe PH levels of my dye solutions to create an array of calming blue and purple tones. Lán sè là reflects the playful attitude of todays youth, inspired by the quirky fashion forward street style emerging from China and Japan.
